The rock in North Devon is largely dark, charcoals, browns with a hint of slate blue.
This ceramic has the texture of the sand / shingle beach that is in Ilfracombe and Hele Bay; each side of the vessel having tide lines, one for each tide with foaming waters splashing about.
20 X 30 X 15 cms, smooth professional black clay, coloured slip, textured glaze.
The vessel has an inner 'foot' which makes the whole appear as if it is floating slightly above the surface.
