We walked along tree-lined coastal paths in the heat of late May. It was a welcome breeze which caught us as we rounded the hill down towards Ilfracombe. The pathway took us behind gardens, along the next bay and opened out onto the back of the harbour at Ilfracombe.
The sea was a fantastic blue and the smell of the working docks filled our nostrils as we headed toward a seafood shack just past the fishing boats before rounding on to the main shops where we bought chips and sat on the sand.
