Stuck on you

I've been told the residue marks left by the adhesive when the item to which it once stuck had gone is called a glyph. A search on Wikipedia showed nothing but the Urban Dictionary says:-

glyph

any symbol that is not legible due to poor handwriting. Also, any string of characters and/or symbols that can not be deciphered.

Not being cool enough to know words which would appear in the Urban Dictionary, it makes sense I've never heard of it before and will likely forget it before putting it to good use.

It does not stop me from getting all hot under the collar when seeing these strong markings reminiscent of Kline, made by bitumen on board, left outside the house after a building project.

Does anyone else see an embryo printmaking project? Screen print seems the obvious choice but collagraph would be such a challenge and one which will push the boundaries a bit.

It's been good to have some spare time enough to play, and so taking out brown paper and pastels, the shadow / glyph thing has been tried out. It might be too much though and possibly a repeat of the glyph pattern itself is the way to go? We shall see.

As every creative person knows, it is important to have the space and freedom to experiment and make many failures if anything innovative and new is to be said.

Looking forward to seeing if this has legs. :)
